Mute Xcel: models and online deals

If you are looking for a top wetsuit for wakeboarding, Xcel is one of those brands that does not disappoint. It comes from the world of surfing, but is also appreciated by many wakeboarders for its reliability, thermal insulation and attention to detail.
Xcel wetsuits are stretchy, durable, and super comfortable. The neoprene they use is some of the best, and it gives you good freedom of movement even when you're sheathed in a 5/4 in freezing water. Some models go up to 6mm thick, but be careful not to overdo it: if the suit is too heavy for the conditions you're riding in, you'll end up sweating in it as soon as you warm up a bit. If you're riding in the colder months, with water temperatures between 11 and 16 degrees, a 4/3 wetsuit is often the best choice. When the days start to warm up and the water is between 16 and 22 degrees, a 3/2 will give you the right amount of protection without making you sweat.
Among the best known models are the Xcel Axis, which represents the basic version: simple but effective, available in different thicknesses up to 5 mm. Moving up the level we find the Xcel Infiniti, which offers better insulation and greater comfort thanks to some technical details. Finally, the Xcel Drylock It is the top of the range, designed for those seeking maximum performance, with thicknesses of up to 6/5 mm.
All these models are available in several closure variants: back zip, chest zip and front zip. The front or chest zips insulate better and do not bother the back. If you do not know which one to choose, here is an article that explains the differences between the various types of zip.
And for the summer? Xcel also offers short wetsuits (shorty), both long and short sleeve, perfect for those sunset riding sessions or mild days when you only need a minimum of protection.
